4th Grade Zombies Take On Their Teachers in First Trailer for ‘Cooties’
Elijah Wood has been on quite the tear of genre flicks these last few years. He not only starred in the Maniac remake, which is one of my favorite horror films in recent memory, but he’s been consistently producing genre fare through his film production company, SpectreVision. Cooties is his latest project, which centers on a group of elementary school teachers who come under the attack of their fourth grade students, who have been infected with a food virus that has essentially turned them into zombies.
Directed by Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion and co-written by Leigh Whannell (Saw, Insidious), Cooties looks to be a rather entertaining entry into the horror-comedy sub-genre. And, with a fantastic cast that includes Wood, Rainn Wilson, Allison Pill and Jack McBrayer, it looks to have an acting pedigree that should help it rise above these other low-budget genre flicks.
Check out the trailer for Cooties below and look for it when it hits theaters September 18th.
