As of today we are officially one month away from the premiere episode of FX’s American Horror Story: Freak Show. I’ve heard incredibly different takes on the horror anthology show over the course of the last few years, from people saying it’s one of worst things on television, to fans saying it’s absolutely insane in the best possible way. If this latest trailer is any indication, I’d say “insane” is an apt way to describe it.

Freak Show centers on, you guessed it, a freak show that comes to a 1950s Florida town which soon becomes unhinged by the villainous Twisty the clown killer (John Carroll Lynch). The gang of freaks includes a strongman (Michael Chiklis), a bearded lady (Kathy Bates), conjoined twins (Sarah Paulson) and the show’s ringleader played by show mainstay and Emmy winner Jessica Lange.

AHS’s new season kicks off October 8th. Check out the trailer below.
