Awesome ‘Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness’ Fan Film Taken Down By Marvel, Stand Up Against The Injustice Here
A five-issue comic series launched in 2007 called Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness, which pits the badass Ash Campbell against zombified versions of Marvel’s iconic superheroes. It’s highly unlikely, even though the zombie boom is in full effect, that we’ll ever see it become an actual film, but one talented fan has taken it upon himself to make such a dream a reality.
That man is Brian Rosenthal, the director of the 8 1/2 minute fan film Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness. Fan films are usually either shitty or mediocre at best, but every now and then a fan film comes around that is certifiably great and this appears to be one of them. I haven’t personally had a chance to see the film, however. That is because Marvel has forced them to take the entire video down off of YouTube.
This is what they had to say about it on their YouTube channel: “Yup, our Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness FAN FILM was TAKEN DOWN after only 9 days online. We’re going to do EVERYTHING in our power to get it back up so you guys can keep watching it, including going to Marvel directly. We’re even 100% willing to GIVE IT TO MARVEL for THEM to upload just so it can be seen. We want to reiterate… this was comprised of ORIGINAL FOOTAGE SHOT BY US, NON PROFIT AND SELF FUNDED WITH NO INTENTION OF RAISING ADDITIONAL FUNDS. We hope you find it in your hearts to let the fans continue watching and enjoying our film, Marvel. We’ll keep you guys posted.”
Marvel needs to get off their high horse and support their fans, especially since Brian’s fan film cost him $2,000 dollars of his own money to make and wasn’t trying to make any money off of it. He just wants it to be seen. Please comment below and lets help make a stand against Marvel’s tyranny! If anyone starts an Online Petition, please let us here at Morbidly Amusing know and we will spread the word.
