Blockbuster News Round-Up: ‘Star Wars’, ‘Jurassic World’ Trailers Debuting This Week, Oscar Isaac To Play Villain in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’

While horror movie news has been pretty scarce these past few weeks as the push into the holiday season ramps up, news regarding some highly-anticipated upcoming blockbusters has been anything but. Here’s a round-up of the recent various news stories that have been sending internet nerds into a tizzy.

First up, just in time for Thanksgiving, we are getting the first trailer for Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World. Set to star Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, and Vincent D’Onofrio, the first official trailer for the dino-heavy sequel is set to debut Thanksgiving night during the Seattle-San Francisco NFL game on NBC, but they’ve already released a teaser for it, which you can watch below.

Next up, a little film called Star Wars: The Force Awakens has also set Thanksgiving week for its trailer debut. Starting Friday, the trailer for J.J. Abrams’ seventh episode in the Star Wars saga can be seen in front of various movies at select Regal Cinemas (check out their website for more info), but we’d wager to guess that it will also be hitting the internet sometime on Friday.

US actor Oscar Isaac takes part on May 20, 2013 in the show "Le Grand Journal" on the set of the French TV Canal+, on the sidelines the 66th Cannes film festival in Cannes. Cannes, one of the world's top film festivals, opened on May 15 and will climax on May 26 with awards selected by a jury headed this year by Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg. Lastly, one of the stars of The Force Awakens is also joining another big franchise. Oscar Isaac, star of next month’s release A Most Violent Year, is set to take on the role of the villainous Apocalypse in the aptly titled X-Men: Apocalypse. Bryan Singer is returning to direct the sequel to this year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past and it will be hitting screens everywhere May 27th, 2016.
