Childhood Terror ‘The Babadook’ Comes To Life In This Trailer

 The Babadook

All kids are afraid of having a monster that could be lurking in darkness of their closet or bed, but what happens when the parent knows that there is something more sinister, and real, not just a creature formed from their child’s overactive imagination.

That’s the set-up for the Australian horror film, The Babadook, which is an Official Selection at the Sundance Film Festival and is the debut feature film for Jennifer Kent.  The film is based on a short film she made back in 2005 entitled Monster, which follows Amelia and her six-year-old son Samuel who are tormented by a creature from a children’s book that shows up in their home.  The film has yet to be given a release date.

The Official Trailer for The Babadook can be seen below, as well as the 2005 short film Monster upon which the film was based.
