Eli Roth’s Cannibal Horror Film ‘The Green Inferno’ Gets A Trailer

It’s been a long time coming for fans of his particular brand of gore-infested horror, but Eli Roth’s first feature-length directorial effort in nearly seven years now has its first official trailer. Centering on a group of student activists who travel to the Amazon only to find themselves taken hostage by a native tribe, The Green Inferno is a cannibal  horror film shot guerrilla-style in the jungles of Peru and features an actual tribe of locals who, according to Roth, had no concept of what a movie was prior to acting in this very film.

I caught the film at the Toronto International Film Festival back in September and while I wasn’t particularly crazy about it, I’ll be the first to admit that some of my opinion was formed because I personally couldn’t stomach some of the more graphic horror effects.

The Green Inferno hits theaters September 5th. Check out the trailer below.
