Seeing as how we are currently living in a world where every movie from your childhood is getting a reboot/sequel/prequel of some sort, it should come as no surprise to any of you that we are getting yet another Terminator film.
This time, Arnold Schwarzenegger is back in Terminator Genisys and is joined by an all new cast playing all those characters you know in a film that’s not a prequel or a sequel, but it’s definitely something confusing.
Helmed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World), the film stars Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke as a young Sarah Connor who is still fighting the good fight against SkyNet alongside Arnie’s Terminator. Essentially, Sarah’s son John (Jason Clarke) sends Kyle Reese (yeesh, it’s Jai Courtney, again) into the past to fight alongside his mother and we get an incredibly confusing time-travel movie that apparently spans the timelines of the previous films. Honestly, it’s only going to get more confusing the more I talk about it, so I’m just gonna stop now.
Terminator Genisys is currently set to hit theaters July 1, 2015, but I’m personally holding out hope that SkyNet destroys the world before then and spares us all. Check out the trailer below.
