While we received the news just last week that Paramount Pictures was moving forward with yet another Friday the 13th reboot under the helm of V/H/S contributor David Bruckner, the folks over at Deadline are now reporting that an hourlong dramatic TV series is also in the works.

Set to be executive produced by Sean S. Cunningham, director of the very first Friday the 13th film, along with the powers at be over at Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films and Crystal Lake Entertainment, this new television series will center on Jason Voorhees and “the eclectic characters of Crystal Lake who are forced to confront the return of the killer, as new secrets about his wacky family are revealed”. The series is set to take place across multiple time periods and will be scripted by Bill Basso and Jordu Schell.

While there is no specific timetable for the TV series just yet, fans of the Friday the 13th franchise can look forward to the film reboot that is set to hit theaters on March 13, 2015.
