After the new Godzilla is released later on this year, it doesn’t look like you will have to wait very much longer for the next giant monster movie.  Word has just hit the wire that in honor of his 50th anniversary, everyone’s favorite fire-breathing turtle, Gamera, will once again be gracing the big screen in 2015.  According to the Anime News Network, the Japanese retailer Amiami announced  “a new Gamera launching. Breaking a long silence, that famous Gamera will finally return!”

The giant turtle monster Gamera made his debut in the 1965 film Gamera the Giant Monster and his last feature film was Gamera the Brave, which was released in 2006.  If you have never heard of Gamera check out the 90’s trilogy of films, which consisted of Gamera: Guardian of the Universe (1995), Gamera 2: Attack of the Legion (1996), and Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris (1999), because they are a great starting point to discover this monster.

Hopefully, both the new Godzilla and the new Gamera film will both be successful so that both monsters can both battle each other in a possible film together.  Turtle power!
