Guillermo Del Toro’s FX Horror Series ‘The Strain’ Gets A Full Trailer
While the golden age of television appears to be winding down with many of the era’s critically acclaimed shows coming to an end, one network that continues to have an over-abundance of quality television is FX. From Louie to Fargo to Justified to It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the network and its president John Landgraf have traversed many different genres and have produced so many memorable television series that will no doubt stand the test of time. One of their latest projects comes from iconic filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro and if the latest trailer is any indication, audiences may be in for yet another great FX series.
The Strain is a horror series adapted from a trilogy of vampire novels written by Chuck Hogan and Del Toro himself. It centers on “Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.” The series stars the fantastic Corey Stoll (House of Cards) and its showrunner is Carlton Cuse, part of the showrunner teams that brought us both Lost and Bates Motel. Del Toro himself directs the pilot of the series and is also heavily involved with all of the scripts for the first season of episodes.
The Strain premieres July 13th on FX. Check out the trailer below.
