In a bit of news that has somehow escaped us here at Morbidly Amusing, a fascinating new horror documentary entitled Birth of the Living Dead has been set for release this very month. This doc tells the story of George A. Romero and his creation of the modern film zombie in his directorial debut Night of the Living Dead. Focusing on the political and social ramifications of Night and sporting a wide array of interviews from modern-day film figures, Birth looks to be a very interesting exploration into how Romero’s creation became bigger than even he had ever dreamed.
Birth of the Living Dead is set for an ITunes release on October 15th followed by a limited theatrical run beginning October 18th. In a month surprising light on horror fare, Birth definitely appears to be one to anticipate. Check out the trailer below.
