Fast & Furious 7 is due out  7/11/2014 and will be directed by Saw director and creator James Wan.  The next installment in the Fast and the Furious series is following up the events from Fast & Furious 6 and Tokyo Drift.  Apparently the events in the sixth film took place before Tokyo Drift, which is rather interesting.

Jason Statham will play the villain, Ian Shaw, brother of Owen Shaw (Luke Evans, Fast & Furious 6). Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Ludacris, and Jordana Brewster are all signed on for the film as their characters from previous films.  Filming started in September, 2013 only three months after the release of Fast 6.

It will be interesting to see James Wan’s career develop, especially since he is trying to break out of the mold of primarily being known as a horror director.  Here’s the newly released Extended Trailer below.
