The walking dead is heading to Mortal Kombat X!
It has been just been confirmed that on May 5th, masked murdering psychopath Jason Voorhees will depart from Camp Crystal Lake and head towards Outworld to join the roster of Mortal Kombat X.
Jason will be the first DLC character available courtesy of the Kombat Pack. However, after one week he will be made separately available for all to purchase. Jason will also be bringing with him three different character variations to slice and dice his opponents with, along with two signature fatalities and probably a host of his own brutalities.
Obviously he will be wielding his machete like never before, but I also can’t wait to check out what alternate costumes the creators from Netherrealm have in store for us. My money is on a Jason X skin to commemorate the X in Mortal Kombat this year. Check out the official Jason Voorhees reveal trailer below.
Jason will be available via the Ultimate Horror Pack, which also includes skins called Vampiress Mileena, Kraken Reptile, and Pharaoh Ermac. After Jason, three more characters will follow courtesy of the Kombat Pack, and they are already confirmed to be Predator, Tanya and Tremor.
This isn’t the first time that a horror icon has graced the Mortal Kombat tournament. Nearly four years ago it was revealed that Freddy Kruger was the first DLC character for the previous Mortal Kombat title and that was met with huge success. My only gripe is that I wish they had waited and maybe we could have had Freddy vs. Jason for Mortal Kombat X. Ah well, a geek can dream.
Now for fans of Friday the 13th, the dream or nightmare will become a reality on Tuesday May 5th with the official release of Jason Voorhees.
Also, below is the extended Kombat Pack trailer for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy…
