Kevin Smith’s ‘Clerks 3’ Set to Begin Production in May, Potential ‘Mallrats’ Sequel in the Works

Clerks2

In news that our own Dr. Morbid is no doubt salivating over, Kevin Smith is finally set to begin production on his long-in-development third entry in the Clerks series.

This past fall we learned that financing had finally come together for Clerks 3, and now writer-director Kevin Smith has revealed to the Twitter masses that filming will begin in May in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he previously shot both Zack and Miri Make a Porno and Dogma. But Clerks 3 apparently isn’t the only sequel Smith plans on bringing to big-screens everywhere.

In the same tweet, Smith laid out production plans for the rest of his upcoming films, which includes his hockey film Hit Somebody shooting in September and his latest horror feature Moose Jaws kicking off next February. He finished off the tweet with the mysterious statement “But after that? I smell a rat…”, which has led many to believe he is planning a sequel to his 1995 film Mallrats.

While no other specific details on either film are available at this time, we here at Morbidly Amusing will be sure to keep you up to date on all news revolving around Kevin Smith’s Askewniverse.

And of course, Happy Friday the 13th!
