Even though it’s been available On Demand for several months now, the fan-favorite remake of William Lustig’s Maniac landed on both DVD and Blu-ray this past Tuesday. Texas-based art gallery Mondo has made a surprising and exciting announcement that they will soon be releasing the Maniac remake on VHS – a limited edition offering of only 500 tapes.  They will be selling for $25 each at a random time on the announced release date of Tuesday, October 22nd.

I for one love the resurgence of the VHS tape, I recently bought a Toxic Avenger one, especially the hard plastic cover.  It just brings back nostalgia.  We here at Morbidly Amusing loved the remake, so count us in as excited about this release.
