‘Mortal Kombat’ Movie Suffers Early Defeat
In news that feels like an uppercut into a pit filled with spikes for Mortal Kombat fans hoping for a new film, Kevin Tancharoen, who directed the Mortal Kombat: Re-Birth fan film as well as both seasons of Mortal Kombat: Legacy, has broken some terrible news on Twitter.
Tancharoen tweeted the following message: “After 3 years of Kombat, I’ve decided to move on to other creative opportunities. I wish everyone involved in the movie big success. Thanks!”
That most likely means that the never-ending gory battle between Outworld and Earth will most likely be put on hold. Either that or the studio will just hire some crap director to make a shitty new film. I would have loved to see Kevin Tancharoen make his dream Mortal Kombat film, but like usual, fanboys are left disappointed.
Terrible news indeed.
