MTV’s ‘Scream’ TV Series Revealed, Wes Craven To Direct The Pilot?
Apparently MTV is planning on bringing us a new TV series based on the Scream film franchise. Word has it that there isn’t going to be an overlap between the films and this new series and the producers are potentially experimenting with a ‘supernatural’ angle, which would take the series in a whole different direction.
Bloody Disgusting has learned some new details on the upcoming MTV series, including some plot details and word that series creator Wes Craven is most likely going to direct the pilot episode. The pilot explores a ‟YouTube video that has gone viral and causes problems for the protagonist, Audrey, who is caught in the middle of murder and the town’s troubled past.‟
The pilot’s screenplay is going to be written by Jill Blotevogel. Casting will be underway soon and more information should be surfacing in upcoming months. I hope that they are going to drop this ‘supernatural direction’ for the new series, because that sounds like a terrible idea. I’d rather see a Scream 5 than an actual MTV series, but oh well. Or maybe the show will be like Bates Motel and catch me by surprise.
