If all the other recent Mortal Kombat X news wasn’t enough for you, IGN.com recently had the pleasure of exclusively revealing one of my personal favorite Mortal Kombat characters for the new game: Reptile. That’s right, the very first hidden Mortal Kombat character is now set to return to the arena, complete with tooth, claw, acid, tongue and evisceration.
The green ninja’s reveal trailer showcases many of his trademark moves back in action including acid spit, energy balls, elbow dashes & invisibility. Also, it looks like Rep will have a few new moves to add to his arsenal like tongue lashes and ground acid spit a la Sub-Zero’s Mortal Kombat 2 move known as ground ice. Perhaps the most exciting feature on display in the trailer is Reptile’s x-ray bone breaker move which looks absolutely brutal. His finishing move looks like it combines his fatalities of old from the Mortal Kombat 2 and 3 days.
So take a look at the trailer below if you dare, and get ready to have your flesh eaten by one of the most prolific MK characters of all time.
After watching that trailer, my excitement level for this game is at an all-time high. Reptile is a kombatant that I’ll definitely want to use in battle. I also like the way he is presented in the game. He looks like he did in the last Mortal Kombat (2011) installment, except much more sinister. Reptile’s image has come a long way since the days of the early MK games when he was nothing more than a palette-swap of Scorpion and Sub-Zero. Perhaps, the thing about Reptile I am looking most forward to is his classic head ripping fatality decapitation courtesy of his tongue…yum!
So get ready to take some acid, Reptile is on his way back. Be sure to keep it here on morbidlyamusing.com for all new Mortal Kombat X info.
