Scream Factory is quickly becoming my favorite go to Blu-ray provider.  I’d like to think of them as the Criterion Collection of cult classic horror flicks.  Not only do they provide a fantastic transfer the films, but they also provide them Uncut and filled to the brim with tons of special features.  And covers feature amazing, original art that outshines any previous versions.

So it was great to hear, in an announcement that was made this past Halloween, that Scream Factory will be releasing Sleepaway Camp (which I personally am a big fan of, despite its various flaws) in a Collector’s Edition Blu-ray/DVD release.  The release will be the original Uncut version and will be packed with various special features.

While we await a list of the supplementary material, we can reveal the cover artwork, which was created by artist Nathan Thomas Milliner (The Burning, Day of the Dead), above.  The artwork has been officially approved by the Director of the film, Robert Hiltzik, who was also said to be directly involved in the creative process.

This Collector’s Edition Blu-ray/DVD will be released on May 27th.  Now only if Scream Factory had the rights to create the official Uncut Collection of the Friday the 13th franchise… sorry, I was just dreaming.
