SEGA announced their third attempt at making a game set in the Alien universe, with the first two being Aliens: Infestation on the Nintendo DS and the disaster known as Aliens: Colonial Marines.  This time they are teaming up with Total War developer Creative Assembly.  That game is Alien: Isolation, a survival-horror title.

Set 15 years after the events of Ridley Scott’s genre-defining Alien, Amanda, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, desperately searches to uncover the truth behind her mothers disappearance as a part of the Weyland-Yutani team despatched to discover what happened to the Nostromo.

Forgoing the action of the previous titles, Isolation is focusing more on the bleak horror of the original movie rather than the militaristic action of the sequel.  The featurette released along with the reveal trailer lets on to a rather intriguing idea: you’re facing off against a lone xenomorph, and there aren’t any weapons on display.  Alien: Isolation will be released late 2014 on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and PC.
