‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Gets An Official Title In ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

As we enter the holiday season, the countdown to the next Star Wars film is officially kicking into high-gear. J.J. Abrams’ Episode VII won’t be released until Christmas 2015 but the folks over at Disney are getting the marketing campaign going now, and it certainly helps when the film is given an official title. Thusly, Star Wars: Episode VII is now officially titled Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Now I’m not going to be one of those fanboys who trashes the title without giving it a second-thought, but I will say that it definitely seems like more of a title for a Star Wars video game than it does for a Star Wars film. Regardless, I can’t wait for Episode VII, mostly because, for the first time in my life, I don’t really have any clue about what a new Star Wars film is going to entail. The galaxy far far away is limitless with possibilities, and those possibilities will become clear when J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters everywhere December 18, 2015.
