In news that is sure to excite horror fans craving big-screen scares this Halloween, Warner Bros. & New Line have announced that Annabelle is set for release this October 3rd.

For those not in the know, Annabelle is a spin-off of last year’s horror hit The Conjuring and centers on the unsettling doll with whom the Warrens have a complicated history to say the least. The Conjuring‘s director of photography John R. Leonetti is set to helm Annabelle, which is written by Gary Dauberman (writer of such classics as Swamp Devil and Bloodmonkey) and stars Annabelle Wallis, Ward Horton, and Alfre Woodard.

While you’ll be able to check out Annabelle in just a few months time, you’ll still have to wait another year for The Conjuring 2, which will be released October 23, 2015.
