It burst onto the film scene back in March at South by Southwest and now its first trailer is here to slice its way through the masses.

The Final Girls is a meta horror comedy from director Todd Strauss-Schulson (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) and writers M.A. Fortin & Joshua John Miller. It centers on Max (Taissa Farmiga), the daughter of deceased horror scream queen Amanda Cartwright (Malin Akerman), who gets sucked into the world of her mother’s most famous movie along with her group of friends. She then must team up with the mother she’s been grieving in order to fight off the film’s Jason Voorhees-esque killer.
