This past September, I had the great opportunity to attend the Toronto International Film Festival. One of my most anticipated films screening there was the latest from Ti West, writer-director of such horror films as The House of the Devil and The Innkeepers. That film now has a trailer.

Ti West’s The Sacrament follows two journalists from Vice Magazine (AJ Bowen and Joe Swanberg) who set out to document their friend’s search for his sister (Amy Seimetz) who has fallen in with Eden Parish, a cult-like community led by the enigmatic ‘Father’ (Gene Jones).

It was absolutely one of the best films I saw at the festival and I can’t wait for the rest of you to get a taste of this one. While some may argue as to whether this is truly a horror film, I honestly can’t think of a subject matter more terrifying. The film also uses the dreaded ‘found footage’ gimmick in one of the best manners I’ve ever seen on film. I couldn’t recommend Ti West’s latest any more highly.
