Tim Burton To Direct ‘Beetlejuice 2’?
Apparently a Beetlejuice sequel has been in the works for quite some time, and according to The Hollywood Reporter Warner Bros. has a script by Seth Grahame-Smith (writer of Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows) and David Katzenberger (whose only other writing credit is on MTV’s The Hard Life of RJ Berger). And, great news, has officially extended the offer to direct to Burton.
Tim Burton, of course, is the creator of the original Beetlejuice in 1988, and Warner Bros. has a long history with him. Hopefully that means a deal will be made. With two movies, Big Eyes and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, already on his plate if Burton returns to the direct the sequel it probably wouldn’t happen until 2016.
If this deal doesn’t go through and Burton doesn’t direct Beetlejuice 2, I don’t even want to see it. Warner Bros., please don’t do this without him.
